Sound solution for a hybrid space

Having supplied the University of Oxford and many of it's faculties over the last 40 years, the Dept. of Statistics reached out to us to create a zoned furniture spaces within an open plan space. A hybrid space allowing very different uses of space in one large open plan area.

After the open plan canteen, visitor and break out areas were fitted out, we then solved the problems of sound reverb around the open plan area, and zonal privacy. Being a hybrid space, uses changed frequently. These issues were resolved quickly by fitted mobile screens, to absorb sound and offer flexible use privacy solution to quickly zone areas as daily use of space changed. The screens are lightweight, easily manovered by 1 member of staff, and nest for storage.

The result is a flexible space a single member of our staff can quickly change room layouts for the hybrid space, included hosting exhibitions or presentations at short notice.
